In order to facilitate the research activities of the Centre, the Library and Archive provides a wide range of materials, and study space, for students and researchers in the field of performance studies. Building on the decades of systematic work of its predecessor, the Documentation Centre for the Dramatic Arts at the Faculty of Arts of Palacký University, the Library and Archive of the Centre is equipped with an extensive study collection of scholarly monographs and periodicals from the fields of theatre, performance, radio and film studies. In addition, the video library contains recordings of theatre performances, documentaries of theatre festivals and a large database of Czech and foreign films, with a total of over 10,000 audiovisual recordings.

The long-term goal of the Library and Archive is to expand the existing collection to the effect of creating a comprehensive body of publications on performance studies and the methodology of research of performativity, theatricality and performance art. To the same effect, the existing database of audiovisual recordings has been constantly enlarged to contain liminal theatrical/performative forms and action art, as well as various kinds of cultural performances (political, sport, religious; folklore and modern festivals; and other ritual-like performances).

A significant part of the audiovisual collection consists of materials gathered by students of the Department of Theatre and Film Studies of the Faculty of Arts at Palacký University during the field research.
